Month: April 2015

Spring has sprung!

The weather is FINALLY getting friendly with Britain! It’s not just the sun that we still meet sometimes in the odd winter’s day, this time the weather is getting much hotter, although still with the occasional breeze. The flowers have bloomed, the leaves are starting to grow on trees, everyone’s mood just seems so much brighter! Spring is definitely my favourite season. We can finally wear less layers!! Oh, and how can I forget the sunglasses? :p

Before you make assumptions – yes, those are trousers, not a skirt 🙂

FILLE

I don’t even have anymore excuses to explain why it took me two years to finally finish this video. I guess I gotta admit that I forgot that I had to work on this video, and was too lazy to continue. Since I made a channel, I thought it would be a great time and opportunity to finally publish this video.

My friend, Heidy, came to me for help with her scholarship programme entry for BA fashion marketing in Paris, of course I was more than happy to help! She created the overall concept of the project and I helped her execute the ideas into a video. I have to be honest, I don’t really remember what the task was, but she had to pick a highstreet fashion brand and simply market the brand (I think). She chose Pull & Bear for this and through this video, we wanted to show how versatile this clothing line is. You won’t find just one style. It can be edgy, it can be playful, and it can be a bit bohemian.

Tell me what you think of the video! I’m personally really proud of it somehow 🙂

Another day in the park.

I like spending my time in parks. I find it really relaxing, especially when the park has a beautiful view. My favourite park so far is still Primrose Hill (can you consider this as a park?) but this time I went to Greenwich Park with Tara. It was very grey and gloomy, though. Did not expect it to be THIS grey. But what can you do? That’s British weather for you!

Writing about this post, I just realised something – I don’t dress according to the season. First of all, this was taken when it was still quite cold, hence the jumper and the coat. When you look at this picture, you would probably think this was taken in November because it’s a very autumnal look, this one. Even though it’s supposed to be a transition time to spring. But that’s just me – I don’t really mind about dressing according to the season. I mean obviously I would wear less clothes in summer and more in winter. What I meant is that I don’t care about colours and all that. People seem to think that when it’s spring, you’re supposed to wear brighter colours or pastel colours, and there’s no more of that burgundy and khaki colours anywhere on your body. Aaaaanyway… I’m not trying to be snobby, I just realised something that’s all! Haha. We all have our own views on everything 🙂

From now on I will try to actually link the things I am wearing as well. As long as they’re still available online.

New Channel, New Beginnings

If you’ve been reading my blog somehow, you know I was in years of constant debate with myself whether I should create a YouTube channel or not. Look, ma! I did it!

This is just an introduction video where I invite you round for a cup of tea and chat a bit about my channel and its background. If you really MUST know now, I will post fashion and beauty videos. I won’t just post lookbooks, I will also give you tips and advice (if you will) on fashion! I might also post some cinematographic stuff because that’s also what I like.

Please go on and subscribe to my channel because I have a pretty cool video coming up next week, if I do say so myself. 😉 I’d really, really, genuinely appreciate it.

Kentish

Let’s face it – life gets pretty boring when you’ve only got a few friends and you’re bloody homesick. The next best thing to do? Visit your best friend, of course! Especially when that also means traveling – the best of both worlds!

On my last reading week, I decided to visit Prinka. She lives in Canterbury so I gave her a little visit since she’s been to London several times already. Since it’s really small there, we decided to visit neighbouring towns such as Whitstable and Dover.

We arrived in Whitstable just in time for the sunset. We took a light stroll through the beach and us being us –  we took pictures of each other. We also went bowling because why da hell not, right? And we basically turned crazy when we saw the DDR machine. We even had an audience (of two people)! I suppose playing for about 4 years paid off? :p

The next day, my body was aching like hell because we went bowling, and that affected my arms, but DDR affected my legs. It had been such a long time since I played DDR and do something so active like that! Ever since winter I haven’t been exercising, and this year I don’t walk as much as the previous years. Anyway, we visited the White Cliffs of Dover. It was quite a journey, that. We were dropped off in the middle of the harbour and had to walk up to the cliff with 0 knowledge. We didn’t really know if we were going on the right track. After about a 15 minute hike, we reached the cafe. Finally, there were directions! We followed the directions and after about a 20 minute walk, we kinda gave up because we could see the cliff already from there. In all honesty we just wanted to take pictures. Hahaha. But also, it was hella muddy and I was so upset because my precious boots were covered in mud. Also Prinka’s white shoes.
