Christmas

Happy christmas, everyone!

Hope everybody had a holly jolly christmas this year! (Straight on stole a lyric like an absolute boss.) All I know is that I couldn’t stop listening to Christmas songs. Anyway, I spent my christmas and a lot of my christmas break with my middle school friend, Jessica in London. It was an absolute failure, though. We started off the day by opening our presents from Prinka. She generously left us presents under the christmas tree that she and my mum set up when I was away in Coventry. We even made a video of it, with our bedhead and all. It was very exciting to me, because it has been literally years since I got christmas gifts. Prinka gave me these leather dungarees that I actually wanted and I was so surprised and loved it a lot! Jess got a Lakers beanie, even though she doesn’t specifically support them, Prinka got it wrong haha!

We didn’t really plan anything, but we wanted to go around the city to just see festivity and lights and stuff like that. I already planned a christmas ensemble, with all the mistletoes and such. We came close to the bus station, only realising that everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is on holiday. Even all the public transportation. We didn’t know what to do. It was as quiet as a vacuum. I’m not even kidding. So we decided to do a little impromptu photoshoot instead.

I was so bummed about the whole situation, but we decided to just cook some christmas lunch instead. It was almost our first time cooking a legit dish. We cooked some chilli tuna linguine, with guidance from Sorted Food. If you haven’t checked them out yet, well, you should! They cook the most delicious dishes, and they’re very funny.

I have to say this again, the dish was quite a failure. It was soooo dry, and we made WAY too much. It was so funny.

It was a very interesting christmas indeed.

Substance.

Europe \ deux milles treize.

I wouldn’t really say this is photography, but yeah.

I went to Europe with (part of) my family somewhere around 2012, which is already A YEAR ago (who knew time would fly THIS fast?! I know I don’t) and I haven’t actually posted any of my photos anywhere, except as profile picture stock. So here I am, telling a bit of a story about this.

First of all, these aren’t all of the pictures I took, of course, I literally have thousands of them but I just selected a couple. Okay. So I went to Germany, Italy, Switzerland and also the Netherlands, Belgium and France, but I didn’t insert any pictures in those countries.

The tour was good fun. I luckily went there with an awesome group of people who were just strangers, but we came home to be good friends. The weather is so fine. I used to think that it was cold as hell, (or, heaven?) but now that I live in London, when I think about it, it was actually heaven. It wasn’t really my first time going to Europe, in fact, I just went back from England a few weeks ago when I came back to Europe again for this tour. My friends weren’t really happy to find out about this, hahaha.

I bought so many souvenirs for each and one of my friends, but I end up forgetting about them and only giving them to a few that I kinda remembered. I am so sorry about this, everyone who is involved. I am just human.

CSI: Beevolution, Night of Justice, 2012

Ahh, 2012, the good old high school days. In September, my high school’s batch had to organise an annual event, which is Beevolution. It is normally a sports, music and academics competition, but this time, we decided to spruce it up a bit and created a musical closing event. We invited awesome bands like Maliq & D’Essentials, Rock N Roll Mafia, Twentyfirst Night, Petra Sihombing, Polka Wars, and of course, my personal absolute favourite, Dried Cassava. I wouldn’t really say it was a huge success. I do have to admit that we don’t have a lot of audience. We used to blame it on K-Pop because I remember some K-Pop band coming to Jakarta and they probably took most of the Jakarta Student population. They even took our very own committee.

Anyway, here are just some of the pictures that I took. The event was really great fun. I wish I could just come back to those times again and relive the whole event.
